Title: Does chronic prostatitis affect fertility?
Post by: twardziel2009 on September 30, 2009, 10:10:49 AM
Hello. I was hoping that someone could share some information with me. My fiance (soon to be husband in 8 days!) found out that he has chronic prostatitis. They also found that he has an enlarged uretha due to a cyst. They did some tests, and they are going to try to insert a camera through the uretha and attempt to 'pop' the cyst, rather than removing it with surgury. With all that being said, with us soon getting married, we want to have a baby and start a family. Now from my understanding, chronic prostatitis never goes away, and he has had it for years. He asked his urologist if there would be any fertility issues, and he said he doesn't see why that would be a problem. My fiance has a chiild already from the past, so I don't know. I'm just looking for reassuance. I have been off the pill for 8 months and still am not pregnant, so my question is, will this stand in our way of having a baby? I would appreciate any info or success stories. Thank you.
