I truly hate this disease it has ruined my life. I have enough carp to deal with then to have aches in my groin and bladder , or worry if I'm going to wake up at 4 am and make it to the toilet because i have to go pee pee. Yes, I'm laughing at it now to keep from crying. When I was younger I indulged in some unsafe practices and I rarely drank water. It was always soda soda soda. Now I'm in my 30's but feel like a 4 year old when it comes to using the restroom. I drink a glass of water and lay down and I immediately have to urinate with in 1-2 hours. Enough is enough! doctors aren't helping. Antibiotics work for a few days or a few weeks then a month or to later the symptoms are back.
Treatments are nice , but I want a real lasting cure so what has worked for you?
What I notice is that lemonade helps. Over time I was urinating less. But then I slacked up. It's summer so i been drinking lots of kool- aid which I thought would be ok cause it's not soda. Anyway its baaaaaaaaaaaaaak!!! So I'm back to drinking lemonade again and praying it works again. I do drink lots of orange juice at times but for me the lemoade seemed to work where I saw results of less urine and less urgency. I've been reading other post about making the urine more alkaline. I think there is something to this. Someone here or on another site mentioned eating watermelon as a blended shake including the rind.
So here is a list of the most alkaline foods
* Bananas * Chocolate * Figs * Mineral water * Orange juice * Potatoes * Spinach * Watermelon * Dandelion Greens
most fruits and veggies are very alkaline.
and now the most Acidic Foods
# Corn # Meat # Beans # Fish # Fowl # Most grains # Coffee # Plums # Prunes # Cranberries # Distilled water
FOODS THAT ALKALNIZE THE URINE
almonds, beet greens, beets, buttermilk, chestnuts, citrus fruits, coconuts, cream, dairy products, dandelion greens, fruits (except cranberries, prunes, plums), kale, milk, molasses, mustard greens, nuts, spinach, turnip greens, vegetables (except corn and lentils)
Im not sure why the ruled out cranberried prunes and plums but I know cranberries are great for the bladder and urinary tract so i'd ignore that.
Disinfect the Urinary Tract
Some herbs have been clinically shown to have antiseptic properties. Drinking these herbs in beverage form throughout the day may be beneficial.
Drinking at least 16 ounces a day of cranberry or blueberry juice (not the sugar-sweetened variety) can have a preventative and therapeutic effect. These juices have antibiotic properties that interfere with the ability of bacteria to adhere to the bladder or urethral tissue. Choose a juice sweetened with apple or grape juice
