Hi the latest research made by Curtis Nickel M.D. as of 2009 is that chronic nonbacterial prostatitis has nothing to do with anything being wrong with the patients body. Using magnetic resonance imaging he found out that the same nerves where activated in the brain in all prostatitis patients that he examined.
This means that prostatitis should be treated as a disorder of the brain and not the body. Using cognitive psychology to decrease the tension created in the patient related to prostatitis is the cure.

The only medications recommended is for relieving sympthoms such as NSAID:s or alfa-blockers.

I suppose that in the chronic sufferers tension and worrying about prostatitis has become a self feeding loop where the worry induces more sympthoms of prostatitis and thus increases the tension. Break the downward spiral, try to relax!

Best of Luck to you all!
