About two weeks ago, I started feeling a weird sensation in my penis. Like a mild tingly. After 4 days later I was burning up. So I went to the walk in and test showed something maybe high white cells but no bacterial growth and no stds. (positive its not an std). Anyway, the doc there gave me 5 days of cipro (called it a uti). After two days, I was peeing every 20 minutes, and in more pain but just in the shaft and urethra. Luckily, i had an in with a urologist. He did a quick exam (finger and all) says I have Prosatititis and extended my cipro 1000 xl extended release tablets once a day for a total of 23 days. Still not complete.

Naturally, I went online and I'm freaked out and pretty damn scared. This seems to be the only board that people aren't suicidal. Anyway, I don't know which kind I have or if i even have but I I def don't want to go through 8 days of pain! Like I couldn't hold in my pee and just the non stop burning, brought me to tears.

I bought d-mannose a few days ago and been taking it every two hours. Also I am doing that broccoli treatment. Now I don't know if the d-mannose had an effect or its the drugs but I feel like 70% better. I'd like to say 100% but mentally, sometimes I feel i am creating sensations in my mind or not.... It's pretty traumatic.

Anyway, I know this is a one time thing and not considered chronic yet.... I am going back to urologist this week cause I have a list of questions. (first visit he squeezed me in as emergency so I didn't have much time)and I read that people who take cipro for 30 days have a 67% success rate of having no recurrence and 60 days it's in the 80%s. Not sure if any of you read this. I didn't bookmark it. (if you have please get me link)

What should I ask my doctor since I want to be armed with good questions and secondly, have any of you heard of it just effecting the shaft? Or is this just a UTI? Thanks in advance for any information.
